Robin is a Senior Associate in NSDV’s Mining and Environmental Law Department. She completed her BSocSc Law and LLB at the University of Cape Town, and she is completing her LLM in Environmental Law at the University of Pretoria.

Robin has advised on a range of environmental and regulatory matters across the energy, industrial and mining sectors. Some of her work includes assisting clients with conducting due diligence investigations on renewable energy projects and preparing environmental legal opinions for these projects. She has also prepared legal opinions on renewable energy certificates and environmental attributes.

She has assisted clients with health, safety and environmental legal compliance audits, giving presentations on developments in environmental law and the preparation of legal opinions on various environmental aspects. In addition, she has assisted with compiling appeals and judicial reviews with respect to authorisations and licences under environmental laws.

Robin’s experience includes:

• Conducting environmental legal due diligence and assisting in safety, health, and environmental compliance audits.
• Conducting legal due diligences on renewable energy projects (including wind, solar and hydro-power).
• Legal guidance on environmental attribute certificates.
• Advising mining and non-mining clients on environmental impact assessments and public participation processes under the NEMA EIA Regulations.
• Handling appeals under the NEMA EIA Regulations and MPRDA.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements under legislation such as the MPRDA, NEMA, NEM:WA, NWA, and WSA.
