Michael Grinaker is an Associate in the NSDV construction, litigation and dispute resolution team. In his three years at the firm, Michael has specialised in the NEC suite of construction contracts and has gained experience assisting clients in the day-to-day commercial management of these contracts. In this role, Michael has been integral in assisting clients successfully claim over R260 million in adjudication disputes.

One of Michael’s key attributes is his commitment and ability to assist clients with the ever-shifting needs of Employers, Contractors and Subcontractors on construction projects and throughout the dispute resolution process.

Mike’s experience includes:

• Assisted clients in the day-to-day commercial management of NEC construction contracts;

• Collaborated with experts in the drafting of expert witness reports to accompany the pleadings.

• Assisted in drafting NEC construction contracts to allocate and identify risk.

• Assisted the team in resolving various FIDIC, NEC and JBCC contractual disputes.

• Drafted numerous pleadings in adjudication and arbitration disputes.

• Attended Dispute Adjudication Board adjudications.

• Attended adjudication and arbitration hearings involving a variety of contractual disputes.

• Assisted in commercial litigation.

• Attended various Court hearings.
